According to Slim CD’s notification to affected clients, unauthorized access to its network occurred from August 2023 to June 2024. The company, known for offering payment gateway solutions through web-based terminals, mobile apps, and desktop platforms, first detected suspicious activity on June 15, 2024. The subsequent investigation revealed that the breach had been ongoing since August 17, 2023.

The notification details that unauthorized access was intermittent between August 17, 2023, and June 15, 2024. Hackers are believed to have accessed credit card information during a brief period from June 14 to June 15, 2024.

While the exposed data includes:

  • full names
  • physical addresses
  • credit card numbers
  • expiration dates,

The absence of card verification numbers (CVVs) limits the potential for immediate fraudulent transactions. However, there remains a risk of credit card fraud.

In response to the breach, Slim CD has strengthened its security measures to prevent future incidents. The company advises affected individuals to stay vigilant for signs of fraud and to report any suspicious activity to their card issuers promptly.

It’s important to note that Slim CD has not offered free identity theft protection services to those impacted.
